Tiny Learners
We are excited to announce that our school is taking part in the TinyLearners Award this year. This is such a wonderful initiative for our school community.
The TinyLearners Award is an initiative in Northern Ireland designed to support children born prematurely or who began life in a neonatal unit. This program, funded by the Department of Education NI, aims to enhance the educational experience and outcomes for these children by raising awareness and providing targeted support within schools.
Key Objectives:
1. Awareness and Training: Educate school staff about the developmental and learning impacts of prematurity.
2. Supportive Culture: Foster a welcoming, child-centered environment that acknowledges and supports the unique needs of children born preterm.
3. Empowerment: Enable parents, educators, and children to advocate for necessary educational support.
4. Continuous Improvement: Regularly reflect on and improve the program to ensure it meets the needs of all stakeholders.
Benefits for Your Child:
· Tailored Support: Schools will be better equipped to understand and address the specific needs of children born prematurely.
· Inclusive Environment: A supportive school culture that values each child’s unique journey and potential.
· Empowered Community: Opportunities for parents and educators to collaborate and share insights, ensuring the best possible educational outcomes.
If you would like more information about this or would like to take part in the training, please contact Miss Annett.
