P4 and 5 trip to Castlewellan Forest Park

What a fantastic day we all had at Castlewellan forest park. The children were met by two very knowledgeable rangers and engaged in a variety of activities relating to birds. It was great to immerse ourselves in the outdoors and we loved guessing which bird made which noises…..who knew when we stopped to listen that the birds all sound completely different. Our favourite part of the day was making our own bird nests, collecting items from the forest and then playing ‘nest’ games in teams. We can’t wait to get back again next year.
